TOWN OF LAKE RESIDENTS
NOTICE OF
PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING
AND SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Of Electors of the Town of Lake, Marinette County

Notice is hereby given that the PUBLIC HEARING on the PROPOSED 2024 BUDGET for the Town of Lake will be held on Tuesday November 14th , 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Town Hall, W6202 Loomis Road, Porterfield, WI 54159. The proposed budget in detail is available for inspection at the clerk’s office by appointment only. (phone- 715-854-2995)
Notice is also hereby given that on Tuesday November 14, 2023 immediately following completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed year 2024 budget, a Special Meeting of the Electors called pursuant to Section 60.12 (1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statues by the town board for the following purposes will be held:

1. T approve total highway expenditures for 2024 pursuant to Section 82.03(2) (a) of Wisconsin Statutes.
2. To establish the compensation for elected town officers 2024 pursuant to Section 60.10(1)(b)1 of Wisconsin Statutes.
3. To consider the adoption of a resolution by the town meeting endorsing a town board resolution which proposes that the town levy exceed the state allowable levy limit under Section 66.0602 of Wisconsin Statutes, specifically a proposed tax levy which would exceed the allowable town tax levy for 2024 by 19 percent which would be a dollar increase of $100,000.
4. To approve the 2023 total town levy to be collected in 2024 pursuant to Section 60.10(1)(a) of Wisconsin Statutes of $626,316.00.

Notice is also hereby given that the town board will hold a special board meeting after the special town meeting to adopt the 2024 Budget.
