Minutes of

                    October 7, 2014 6:30 pm Business Meeting

                       And 7:00 pm Regular Board Meeting

Business Meeting: Discussed monthly expenditures.

Regular Board Meeting called to order by Chairman Lyle Cherry at 7:00 pm, present were Chairman Cherry, Supervisor Tarmann, Clerk/Treasurer Chaikowski and 8 members of the public. Supervisor Mueller was absent. Tarmann made motion to approve the agenda, 2nd by Cherry, carried. Motion by Tarmann to approve the minutes of September 2, 2014, Regular Board Meeting, and October 6, 2014 Special Meeting, 2nd by Cherry, carried. Clerk/Treasurer Chaikowski reported the checking account had a balance of $171,324.08.   Tarmann made motion to approve the financial report including checks #19560 thru 19616 for $30,867.40 with check 19571 voided, total electronic debit of $2,768.74, 2nd by Cherry, carried.

Chuck Sample discussed filling in a ditch on his property on Willow Lane. The board would like the Planning Commission to look this over first.

Proposals for repair of the culvert on Hilldale Rd were opened:                                        Dan Risner Excavating $7200 includes materials                                         Scott Anderson $2925                                                                                       Road King Excavating $6650                                                                       Richlen Excavating $8350                                                                     Motion by Cherry to approve the proposal by Scott Anderson of $2925 Town will pay for all of the materials, motion amended to go to the next lowest proposal if Anderson cannot comply. 2nd by Tarmann, carried.

Discussed hiring a code enforcement officer, will check what Town of Stephenson does and discuss at November’s meeting.    

Implements of Husbandry meeting that Tarmann & Chaikowski attended on Sept 24 was discussed.

Motion by Tarmann to have the county collect the property taxes, 2nd by Cherry, carried.

Motion by Cherry to accept the Resolution to exceed the levy limit           allowed by the state by $150,000, 2nd by Tarmann, carried. Resolution will go before a Special Electors Meeting on October 30, 2014 at 7:00 PM.

New Fire Dept Chief Craig Caylor was introduced.
