Minutes of ANNUAL MEETING
April 18, 2017 7:00 PM
- Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Banaszak, present was Supervisor Sotka, Supervisor Mueller, Clerk/Treasurer Tarmann and 10 members of the public. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Former Clerk/Treasurer Chaikowski read the minutes from April 19,2016 Annual Meeting.
- Ken Marcusen made motion to approve the minutes, 2nd by Virgil Bonnie Monday, and carried.
- The Annual Report was presented by Former Clerk/Treasurer Chaikowski (copy attached). Total revenues for 2016 were 601,459.35 and total expenses were $503,314.13. Expenses were down to completing the re-assessment of the town, total insurance costs were down with a new carrier. Town Hall expenses were down because there were no damages that needed repair. Election expenses were up because of the presidential elections. This was the first year of debt payment for the town plow/dump truck, and the payment on the generator. Revenues were up slightly with the prior TRIP road project money received in 2016. Motion by Ken Marcusen, 2nd by Tony Moriva, and carried.
- Chairpersons Report: by Chairperson Dan Banaszak reported on road projects Birchwood and Hilldale Road were finished along with graveling the edges of the road. A Public Works Building was approved with a budget $350,000 maximum, the former Public Works Building will be converted to a storage building for salt and sand, and other things such as signs. A start date of May 1, 2017 is expected for the project. A road project for Ferndale extending to Hilldale will placed for bids in conjunction with receiving confirmation of the TRID grant of $147,000 with town matching funds. The TRIP grant of $25,000 and will also be part of the Ferndale project. The Board also was in the process of reviewing the Trailer & Mobile Home Part Ordinance to update.
- New Business: Garbage pickup and costs were reviewed by Chairperson Dan Banaszak. A motion was made to continue the Town garbage pickup funded through within the town budget, but directed the board to look into other options of garbage and recycling options by Mary Moriva, 2nd by Ken Marcusen, and carried.
- Motion by Tony Moriva to adjourn at 8:160 PM, 2nd by Ken Marcusen, and carried.
