6:30 p.m. Finance Town Board Meeting to review financial reports

And Safety Meeting

7:00 p.m. Regular Town Board Meeting Agenda

  1. Pledge of Allegiance was recited
  1. Call to order of the Regular Town Board meeting at 7:03 pm. Present was Banaszak, Sotka, Tarmann, Chaikowski, absent was Mueller, and present were      members of the public.
  1. A motion by Sotka, seconded by Banaszak to approve the agenda, carried
  1. Approval of meeting minutes from September 5, 2017 Regular Town Board Meeting, Special Town Board Meeting September 18, 2017, Special Meeting Board of Review September 20, 2017 and two Special Board Meetings on September 25, 2017. A motion by Sotka to approve meeting minutes, seconded by Banaszak and carried
  1. Approval of Treasurer’s financial report. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Banaszak to accept the financial report and carried.
  1. Public Comment. There was no public comment.
  2. Planning Commission Report. There was nothing to report by the Planning Commission committee.
  3. Review & approval of Land Surveys. There no land surveys presented to the Board for approval.
  4. Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators). No licenses were brought to the Board for approval.
  5. Northwood’s Recycling Coalition update.

Supervisor Sotka and Clerk Tarmann went to the September 18, 2017 Recycling Meeting, and reported on the discussion of the Coalition, see the attached minutes from the Northwood’s Recycling Coalition. The next meeting on recycling will be December 11, 2017at Stephenson Town Hall for recycling for the 2018 Budget year.

  1. Update Mohawk Resort road names approval.

Application #1-5 for road names was presented to the Town Board for approval. The Fire Dept and the board reviewed the names of the roads as not to have any duplicates.

  1. Municipal Treasurer’s Bond due December 1, 2017. More information will be brought to the Board for the November 7, 2017 Board meeting for approval.
  2. Budget Workshop – The Board set the date for the Special Meeting Town Board workshop      meeting at be 7:00 pm. Oct 10, 2017
  3. Public Works Building project update. The building should be ready for the Town on October 4, 2017.
  1. Public Works Building signage. A proposal for a sign from the Haystack was presented to costs approximately $500 installed. A motion  by Sotka to get the sign from Haystack Inc, seconded by Banaszak for no  more than $500 installed and motion carried.
  2. Loader for winter months for salt & sand.

The old building will be need to be made ready for salt/sand if the board would like to have it at the old public works sight. Otherwise it is still an option to have the Town of Stephenson to continue for the 2017-2018 winter season for salt and sand.

  1. Fire Dept. Report

Two calls were reported by Don Mansfield for the fire department.

  1. Road Report & Ferndale Road project update.

Rick Olive gave the road report on patching, chipping, grading, fixing potholes and straightened signs. Seeded by the new building, did vehicle maintenance and repaired the chipper. Banaszak reported the County will be help the Town do electronic filing of the paperwork for the reimbursement of the Trip D road project when all the invoices and other documents can be brought in to the Highway Commissioner office.

  1. Correspondence

County supervisor Chaikowski gave a report on the meetings from the county board. Chaikowski reported on the topic of budget cuts and other various items.

Motion to adjourn at 8:19 pm by Sotka, seconded by Banaszak, motion carried.

The Town Board may have discussion and take action on any of the above agenda items.
