Pledge of Allegiance

  1. Call  to order. The meeting was called to order at 7:00p.m by Banaszak.
  1. Approval of agenda. A motion to approve the agenda was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka, and carried.
  1. Approval of meeting minutes from February 6, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting and February 26, 2018 Planning Commission and Road Committee joint meeting. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Mueller, seconded by  Sotka and carried.
  1. Approval of Treasurer’s financial report. A motion to approve the Treasurer’s report by Sotka seconded by Mueller and carried.
  1. Public Comment. There was no public comment.
  1. Mohawk Resort update. Jeff Lieuwen presented information on Mohawk Resort concerning division of existing      lots. A certified map describing the change in properties in a proposed sale of the properties including the mobile home park, bar, cabins and condos. The changes would also include the division into parcels that would have road access for fire and safety. An assurance bond will be part of the development of the roads      that will have estimates from several road contractors in an agreed amount at time of sale including a fire lane in the lower parcels. The Town Board requested the owners and Jeff Lieuwen to set a meeting with the Planning Commission with updated information that was discussed with the road access for future lots, road names and electrical improvements.
  1. Planning Commission Report -Ken Marcussen reported on the Planning Commission and the Road Committee met on February 26, 2018. Ken Marcussen also requested Oak Lane improvement is brought to the Annual Meeting for  discussion. Mueller pointed out the fact that property lines were adjusted due to GIS restructuring of property lines in the Town of Lake. Banaszak suggested he would go to land information, the DNR and shore land zoning for any future use of lake access at the end of Oak Lane.
  1. Change April 3, 2018 regular Town Board Meeting to a later date due to Spring Elections. A motion to change the Regular Town Board to Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. by Mueller seconded by Sotka and carried.
  1. Review & approval of Land Surveys. No other surveys to approve. A meeting will be arranged when Jeff Lieuwen has more information on the certified map and proposed sale of the Mohawk property.
  1. Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators) No Licenses to approve.
  1. Fire Dept Report. Don Mansfield reported 2 fire calls and a paper report from  the Fire Dept. secretary.
  1. Public  Works Road Report Banaszak reported the public works had several days of plowing and sanding. The sign truck was repaired. There were bump signs  installed where needed. Tried spreading wood chips on several roads in  replacement of sand and salt as an alternative. Rick fixed the area under  the Jib Crane. Harding’s Pumping was called to steam out several culverts  that were plugged. Road ban signs were put up for Monday April 9th  Monday morning.
  1. Public Works-Loader purchase costs and Quote on Truck #201 Dump Box replacement from three different vendors. Banaszak brought quotes for a loader. Banaszak also brought information to the Town Board from the USDA for when we get quotes for replacement for Truck #201. The Town of Lake has a median income of $43,000. It would allow the town to apply for a grant through the USDA possibly with a grant of 35% of the cost of the dump box. Banaszak requested the Town Board to make a motion to purchase  the loader for $26,000. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller  and carried.
  1. Road projects for approval by Town Board for 2018. Banaszak had a list of roads to be repaired for the 2018 road construction season. Banaszak stated there was approximately 1.6 miles of roads to be redone at the estimate of $191,000.00. The Board requested bids/quotes for the road construction/maintenance. A motion by Sotka seconded by Mueller and carried. The roads to be worked on for the e 2018 road construction list are Oak, Tipperary, Birchwoood, Aspen, Evan, Shady Lane and South Lane including scarifying, pulverizing, black topping and some chip sealing.
  1. Approve letter to property owners-Dilapidated Buildings. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried to send letters to the landowners with action to be taken within 30 days of the receipt of the letter from the Town. The Town will then respond the landowners.
  1. ATV/UTV roads information for request to Marinette County for approval. County Supervisor Chaikowski recommended that the County Road GG from Lake Noquebay Road to Spur Road be forwarded  to the County to be allowed to have ATV/UTVs use for to Lake Noquebay for events at Lake Noquebay Park. In addition to Cty GG, the portions of County Road W from Riverview Road to Loomis Road and Two Mile Road to      Gravelly Brook Road, and County Road P from Riverview Road to the Peshtigo River were suggested to be included as ATV/UTV roads. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller to go with the recommended roads, and carried.
  1. Update on Recycling meeting / Information on Recycling Grant. A meeting will be on April 9, 2018 at the Town of Stephenson at 6:00 p.m. The hope is to contract with Town of Stephenson for the next year for recycling.
  1. Ordinance Manual Update. Information from Community Code Service. Mueller suggested checking with the Town Association on who would best handle the ordinance manual updates. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Banaszak to get quotes on the updating of the Ordinance Manual, and carried.
  1. It was stated as information only that on Tuesday April 17, 2018 the Annual Meeting would be at 7:00 p.m. at the Loomis Town Hall.
  1. Correspondence. There wasn’t any correspondence.
  1. Adjourn.  A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried at 9:10 pm.
