Pledge of Allegiance
- Call to order.
Present was Banaszak, Mueller, Sotka, Tarmann and members of the public.
- Approval of agenda.
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Approval of meeting minutes from April 10, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting
A motion to approve the minutes from April 10, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Approval of Treasurer’s financial report
A motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Public Comment
Ken Marcussen commented on the road budget for Noquebay Road. Oak Lane had an ice shove that blocked access to the lake, and the Board stated they wanted to keep private parties trying to remove ice shoves because of the liability involved. Marcussen also asked why wasn’t the Hilldale Road culvert project not completed at this time. Banaszak stated several reasons and alsotime ran out because of the rain that occurred that fall. Marcussen also stated that the Chairman gave persmission to have cement trucks deliver during road weight limits were still in place. Banaszak commented that he reviewed the weight slips from the cement trucks and that the trucks had legal load limits.
- Planning Commission Report. No meeting report at this time. Ken Marcussen would like to have a meeting concerning Birchwood culverts and drainage and the corners. Ken Marcussen also stated there is an issue with a culvert.
- Review & approval of Land Surveys
No land surveys were reported at the meeting.
- Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators)
A motion to approve Jacqueline Kertesz an operator license for Timberline Resort by Sotka , seconded by Mueller and carried.
- Fire Dept Report.
No calls to report at the meeting.
- Public Works Road Report. Rick Olive reported on grading and snow plowing for April. Picked up garbage, cut trees, and did maintenance on the one ton truck. The County Road Commissioner stated that the Town could apply for Bridge Aid on Willow Lane to replace the culvert with a larger than existing culvert. Tarmerac Road and Hardware Lane had a complaint for road repair and additional gravel.
- Road Projects – County and Richlen quotes
Banaszak received an estimate from Northeast Asphalt and Marinette County on 65,000 feet of paving. The low quote was from Marinette county, and it was suggested that the County do the paving. The roads are Oak 13,500, Tipperary 18,500 and Loomis road 33,000 scheduled for paving. Dirt work on each road with quotes would be requested. The projects are South Lane scarify and gravel, 12,000feet, Tipperary Lane 4,000 feet, and Loomis Road 1,250 feet. Mueller asked if we could lump the project of road work and black topping. Banaszak stated that if we have Marinette County do the paving , the County would not do the road dirt work. Sotka made the motion to have the County do the hot mix paving, seconded by Mueller and carried. Sotka made the motion to have Richlen do the dirt. Sotka made a motion to have a Class 1 advertisement for quotes for the dirt work, Banaszak seconded and carried.
- Birchwood Road Project requests for bid. Birchwood Road will be requested to have a bid for cold mix paiving . Mueller made a motion to bid Birchwood Road project , seconded by Sotka and carried.
- USDA Grant Update
Quotes were received for the dump box for plow truck number .2
Quotes on the one truck with a plow from Monroe who has the state pool, would be requested.
If we write a grant through the USDA we can possibly get a total of $32,000 in grant money for the two purchases. Mueller made a motion to apply for the USDA grant including the dump box and the 550 (two ton) truck, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Parking Lot repairs was tabled for afuture agenda, dependent upon the USDA grant.
- Contingency Planning and Election System Security Document
Banaszak stated that we should designate the Public Works Building as our second voting sight in the event the Town Hall was unsuitable for elections, and the new Food Pantry building in Crivitz as a third sight because of the handicapped accessibility. A motion was made by Mueller to approve the Contingency Planning and Election System Security Document including the second sight of the Public Works Building and a third sight of the Food Pantry, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Amend Sec.2-1-5 Election Poll Hours: Workers: Wards.
Mueller made a motion to amend Sec.2-1-5 Election Poll Hours, Workers, Wards stated polling hours from 9am to 7am to 8pm, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Recycling Meeting May 21, 2018. Information only.
- Board of Review Adjourn to later date May 24, 2018. Information only.
