Pledge of Allegiance
- Call to order.
The meeting was called to order at 7:01pm
Present was Banaszak, Sotka, Mueller, Tarmann, Chaikowski and members of the public.
- Approval of agenda.
A motion was made to approve the agenda by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried. 7:01 pm
- Approval of meeting minutes from May 1 Regular Town Board Meeting, May 7 Special Town Board Meeting, May 24 Board of Review and May 24 Special Town Board Meeting.
A motion to approve the minutes for May 1 Regular Town Board Meeting, May 7 Special Town Board Meeting, May 24 Board of Review meeting, and May 24 Special Town Board Meeting by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried. Time: 7:02pm
- Approval of Treasurer’s financial report and vouchers
A motion to approve the financial report was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried. Time: 7:05pm
- Attorney Coggins update Town of Lake Board Agenda
A presentation was made by Attorney Coggins and recommendation to the regular monthly agenda and a resolution for the Board to discuss and approve at the July 3, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting. Time: 7:23 pm
- Planning Commission Report
There was no planning commission report. Time: 7:24pm
- Review & approval of Land Surveys
There were no land surveys to approve. Time: 7:24 p.m.
- Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators)
A motion to approve Business Liquor Licenses for (see list) Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried
A motion to approve Cigarette Licenses for Timberline Resort and Backwater Bar & Grill
A motion to approve Operator Licenses for (see list) Time: 7:27 pm
- Fire Dept Report
A monthly meeting financial report and report of emergency calls was given to the board. Time: 7:29p.m.
- Public Works Road Report
Banaszak reported the snow plowing equipment was retired for the summer. Road work including sweeping intersections, gravel work and brushing was done. A review of the culverts that were needed to repaired for proper water flow. The equipment repairs included new tires being installed on town trucks. Time: 7:31 p.m.
- Birchwood Road Project-Award Bid
One bid for cold mix from Scott Construction was received for all the repairs at a cost of $66,400 for Birchwood Road. Attached is a copy of the bid for Birchwood Road project for $66, 4000, Pioneer Road for $24,200, Point Lane for $17,800 and Gravelly Brook Road for $14,100roads.
A motion was made to award the bid for 2018 road construction to Scott Construction for $122, 500.00 by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried. Time: 7:35 p.m.
- Recycling Meeting May 21, 2018 Review contract Town of Stephenson
Banaszak attended the Northwood’s Recycling meeting on May 21, 2018 with several of the townships still not sure if they want to sign the contract drafted for recycling services. A motion was made by Banaszak to accept the contract to have the Town of Stephenson provide recycling services as a 66.0301 contract to share service, seconded by Mueller and carried. Time: 7:43 p.m.
- Compost and Brush site.
Public Works person Rick Olive and Chairman Banaszak suggested having a dump site at the old public works with signs posted for the dump site. The brush sight will be for brush, limbs and grass clippings only organic materials. A motion was made to have a compost and brush site by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried. Time: 7:48 p.m.
- Hall Rental contracts. A motion was made to keep the hall rental as a nonprofit vendor/private rental for a fee of $35.00 per event by Banaszak, seconded by Sotka and carried: Time: 7:54 p.m.
- Judge Morrison update August 7, 2018 Time 7:54 p.m. It was noted that Judge Morrison would attend the Regular August 7, 2018 Board Meeting to report updates for the County Judicial improvements and events.
- Blacktop Public Works & Town Hall parking lot request to get bids
Quotes were received for paving the Town Hall parking lot. Two quotes were received; they were Biehl Construction and Northeast Construction. Banaszak requested to have the parking re-evaluated for removal of the blacktop, regarding the existing dirt, and then compact and resurface the entire parking lot. Sotka made a motion to table the bids for clarification with the changes that were discussed with both contractors for more detailed numbers seconded by Mueller and carried. Time: 8:04p.m.
- Update USDA Grant review and update
The monies for the USDA grant are at a low, so the Town will be applying for a grant for January, 2019.
- Diesel Fuel and Propane quotes for 2018-19 year. Banaszak will get quotes from CHS and Country Visions for both LP propane and for diesel fuel. The quotes will available for the July 3, 2018 Regular Board Meeting. Time: 8:07p.m.
- Correspondence
Banaszak had a request for a fireworks permit for the Ski Cats for the 4th of July. The Fire Chief and the Chairpersons are able to issue a fire permit. Melissa Ebsch, from the City of Marinette Marketing Director & Tourism would like to attend a meeting with the Board. On June 18th, 2018 Attorney Allen form community code service will attending a work session to review and start the process of updating the Town of Lake Code of Ordinances manual.
