Pledge of Allegiance
- Call to order.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Present was Banaszak, Mueller, Sotka, Tarmann, Chaikowski and members of the public
- Approval of agenda.
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Approval of meeting minutes from December 4, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting, Planning Commission Meeting December 17, 2018 and Planning Commission Meeting January 2, 2019.
A motion to approve the minutes of December 4, 2018 Regular Town Board Meeting, December 17, 2018 Planning Commission and January 2, 2019 Planning Commission meetings was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried.
- Approval of Treasurer’s financial report and vouchers
A motion was made to approve the Treasurer’s report with vouchers #22319-22334,22345-22409 for $540,317.68, deposits of $661,176.96 and EFT of$2,100.77 was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried.
- Request for approval of Rural Insurance payment for 2019-2020 insurance coverage.
A description of the Rural Insurance payment was given and approved as voucher #22407 for $18,701.00 for all insurance for the Town of Lake including workers compensation insurance.
- Planning Commission Report
Sotka reported that the Planning met several times concerning the Weed property certified survey map and covenance stipulations. A second certified map presented for the property of Jacobs and a recommendation was made to approve both survey maps.
- Planning Commission request agenda.
The Planning Commission will meet and discuss this item along with discussing how to bring the committee up to the five member original number of committee members.
- Review & approval of Land Surveys (information only on land surveys for review)
Hugh Guy presented certified land surveys for the (2) Weed properties. A motion to approve the certified survey map was made by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried. A second certified survey for the Jacobs Estate was presented. A motion was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller to approve the Gerald Jacobs’ Estate certified survey map, and carried.
- Request for Variance for Weed Property
A request for a Variance for the Weed Property by Hugh Guy to Ordinance 14-1-70(o) Land Division and Subdivision Code for road access to allow 4 lots on a private road instead of the stated 2 lots. A motion to approve variance was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried
- Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators)
A motion to approve a new liquor license and waive the fee for Loopy’s In Loomis by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried.
- Approval of Election Workers 2019
A motion was made to approve the additional election workers for 2019-20 being Ashley Schwartz, Gail Kubiak and Theresa Welty by Mueller, seconded by Sotka and carried.
- Approval of Fire department application.
A Motion was made to approve the fire department application for Tristen Oleck was made by Sotka, seconded by Mueller and carried.
- Fire Dept Report/ISO update
A report by the Fire Chief Craig Caylor stated the ISO rating went from a 7-9 rating to a new 6-10. It could mean that if you are within the 5 miles of your local fire department your insurance could change to the good or not. Also the emergency management plan needed an update to the water hydrant ponds.
- Public Works Road Report
Rick Olive gave a public works report including the maintenance of town equipment and the readiness for the snow plowing season.
- Eisner Property update
Banaszak reported that he contacted the Mortgage Company that owns the property informing the landowner of the debris, cars and trailers that need to be removed or cleaned up. Banaszak would like to contact Attorney Coggins concerning the issuing another citation concerning the unlicensed vehicles, etc.
- Mohawk Trailer Park roads, road names and electrical names update
There are several issues concerning the fire and safety issues that were previously brought to the attention of Mohawk Resort. There no road signs and there is also an electrical issue with power lines that are hanging too low so as not allow fire truck or rescue squad vehicles. Sotka made a recommendation to speak with Attorney Coggins and find out what kind of legal action can be taken to get the owner to update the safety issues.
- 2000 Public Works truck disposal discussion
Banaszak talked to WTA and they stated we should have closed bids for the sale of the 2000 Public Works one ton truck. A notice in the paper requesting closed bids the one ton truck.
- Public Hall update and repairs
Banaszak also stated that the toilets in both restrooms were changed with new toilets with the work done by Precision Plumbing. Also, it was noticed that the furnace needs to have a service check. The refrigerator in the kitchen will need to be replaced with a new one in the next couple of months.
- Correspondence
Penny Chaikowski stated the USDA representative stated that the County funding would not be effective. The Harmony Gardens will be able to use the rifle range property.
Banaszak brought correspondence from the Marinette County WTA that is requesting dues for the costs of the meetings for 2019 year.
