  1. Approval of agenda.

A motion to approve the agenda was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson and carried.

  1. Robert Rules of Order discussion with the Town Board

Chairman Sotka explained the Robert Rules of Order to the Town Board as information only.

  1. Approval of meeting minutes from April 1, 2021 Regular Town Board Meeting

A motion to approve the minutes from April 1, 2021 Regular Town Board Meeting was made by Hanson, seconded by Nelson and carried.

  1. Memorial donation information and request

Chairman Sotka explained that a request was made by VFW for a Memorial Project that would be installed in the Village of Crivitz that would be ready for 2021 Memorial Day dedication. The Town Board chose not to donate funds because it was outside of the Town of Lake. Although it was stated that the cost of the project still needed about $10,000 to pay for the memorial project and donations from the public would be appreciated.

  1. Approval of Treasurer’s financial report and vouchers

A motion to approve the Treasurer’s financial report for Vouchers #23873-23947 for $43,165.58, voids #23906 & 23917, Deposits for $16,160.08 for F&M Bank, Deposits of $25.48 for LGIP, EFT of $ 2,032.16 was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson and carried.

  1. WTA membership renewal for 2021-2022

A motion to approve the membership for 2021-2022 for $1,012.72 was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson and carried.

  1. Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators)

None to approve

  1. Planning Commission Report

Sotka explained that the purpose of the Town Board is to approve questions for driveways, and variances and any other building questions that may come before the Planning Committee. It is still only an advisory committee to the Town Board, but does the bulk of the legwork in previewing requests that come to the Town Board for approval. There were no CSM or other projects to be approved at the May 2021 meeting.

  1. Motion to approve Certified Survey Maps

None to approve.

  1. Fire Dept Report

Fire Chief Caylor reported for the Fire Dept for the month of April. The Fire Dept will be posting that the old tanker truck will be put for sale by bid as the new fire tanker is now being used by the Fire Department.

  1. Public Works Report

Jeremy Gross reported on the work that was completed for the month of April for the Public Works department. Work included maintenance on vehicles, patching and any miscellaneous road work.

Jim Pickett reported to the Town Board for the replacement costs for all the buildings for the Town of Lake. A motion was made to increase the personal property insurance to $20, 000 for the Public Works and the Fire Dept/Community Center, and to increase the coverage on the Public Works Building, Fire Dept/Community Center for a total of $386 was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson and carried.

  1. Open 2021 Riverview Road Work Bids to be approved at a later date

There were three bids received prior to 6:30 p.m. on May 4, 2021 for the 2021 Riverview Road bid request. They were from MCC, Inc. for $254,700 for hot mix asphalt, Northeast Asphalt for $232945.45 for hot mix asphalt and Scott Construction for $207,610.00 for cold mix asphalt. A motion to accept the bids as they were read by Hanson, seconded by Nelson and carried. The date for awarding the bids will May 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.

  1. Hire Public Works part-time employee and returning part-time employees

Sotka explained that the Town of Lake has part-time employees to help the Public Works department. A motion to accept Dan Banaszak as a part-time employee, seconded by Hanson and carried. Rick Olive, Alan Johnson, Levi Sanborn and Jason Swick are also part-time employees A motion was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson to approve the list of part-time employees and carried.

  1. Establish separate Ordinance Book and Planning committee

A motion was made to separate the Ordinance Book Committee and the Planning Committee was made by Nelson, seconded by Hanson and carried. A motion was made to have Bob Burmek as Chairman for the Planning Committee and Dan Banaszak as Chairman for the Ordinance Committee was made by Sotka, seconded by Nelson and carried. A motion was made by Sotka to approve $25 per meeting for committee members, seconded by Hanson and carried.

  1. Advertise for Planning Commission and Ordinance Committee members in the Peshtigo Times.

It was recommended that Town of Lake advertise for committee for two weeks in the Peshtigo Times.

  1. Board of Review, Open Book, is May 19, 2021 and will adjourn to a later date (Information only)
  2. Correspondence

There was correspondence from the State concerning funding the economic recovery grants.

  1. Public Comment

A question was asked does the Town of Lake have zoning. But the Town of Lake doesn’t have zoning in the Ordinances for the Town of Lake. Also, Katherine Claycomb commented that Riverview Road is a lot longer than the road construction project for 2021.
