1. Call to order.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Sotka.
2. Pledge of Allegiance

4. Approval of agenda.
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Burmek, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
5. Approval of meeting minutes from Regular Town Board Meeting September 5, 2023.
A motion to approve the Minutes from the Regular Town Board Meeting September 5, 2023 was made by Nelson, seconded by Burmek and carried. 3-0-0
6. Approval of Treasurer’s financial report and vouchers
A motion to approve the Treasurer’s Financial report with Vouchers #25341-25375 for $68225.06, EFT transfers at F&M Bank for $2,033.07, Deposits at F&M Bank for $783.87, interest deposits at LGIP for $2,858.61 was made by Sotka, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
7. South Lane report
Chairman Sotka reported to the Town Board on South Lane Road right of ways for turn-a-round issues. The Chairman and Sup #1 spray painted the Line. Surveyor Randy LaPlant helped with setting the markers.
8. Lori Zorn input on South Lane
Lori Zorn explained they have an issue with trespassing and was wondering why the Town Board was establishing the Town of Lake’s Road right of ways. Chairman Sotka stated that over the years there have been at least 12 other roads that this road right of ways have been established.
9. Planning Commission Report
Nothing to report.
10. Approval of CSMs.
None to approve.
11. Review & Approval of Business Licensing (Liquor & Operators)
Nothing to approve.
12. Fire Dept Report
Chief Caylor stated the Fire Dept. Breakfast will be October 23, 2023. The F.D. will need to upgrade the helmets for the fire dept gear. Training will for grain elevator rescue in joint training with Porterfield, Crivitz, Grover and Middle Inlet. Fire Chief Caylor explained that there is a need to start looking for a replacement for 1995 Engine #15 which has had several maintenance issues. A motion was made by Nelson to allow the F.D to start looking to replacement, seconded and carried. 3-0-0 A motion was made by Burmek to approve the new F.D. Roster, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0. The insurance stated you can a person under 17-21 can join the F.D. with limitations of no fire fighting and no driving of the trucks.
A request to get the election committee CPR and AED training.
13. Public Works Report
Chairman Sotka gave the public works report for Jeremy Gross including installing 2 new agenda posting signs, maintained roads, replaced culverts, installed fire numbers. The Loomis Road re-construction will start soon. Gravel will be added to several roads, Hardwood Lane and Aspen Lane. The complete report is attached.
14. Snow plow drivers for 2023-24 winter season
Chairman Sotka gave a list of names to the Town Board including Cory Sotka, Mithcel Zorn, Donald Weed, Alan Johnson and Jason Swick, A motion to approve the names above was made by Burmek, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
15. Update on 2023 road projects
Chairman Sotka reported on the 2023 road projects. The Loomis Road will be started the week of October 3, 2023.
16. Loomis Road damage
Someone burned the blacktop down with a tire. It was evident of the damage because the wires from the tire were still on the road. A request from the business owner to stop such action so that there is not any further damage.
17. Loopy’s in Loomis information on deck/possible remodel
An information request was reported by Chairman Sotka that if Loopy’s in Loomis would like to expand, what would be the setback required or legal setback from the state.
18. Update on Town Hall Addition and Remodeling project
The addition has been started with the dig out and footings were poured. Nothing else to report.
19. Wage review for Janitor, Election Workers and Deputy Clerk
A motion to raise the Janitor, Election Workers and Deputy Clerk by $4/hour effective with the October 3, 3023 Board Meeting by Nelson, seconded by Burmek and carried. 3-0-0
20. Approve new dates for Garbage Pickup for 2023-2024
A motion was made by Burmek to approve the garbage pickup dates, seconded by Nelson and carried.3-0-0
21. Approve 2023-2024 Rescue Squad Contract
A motion to approve 2023-2024 Rescue Squad Contract for $19,225 was made by Burmek, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
22. Review JNS Garbage Contract
Chairman Sotka spoke with Julie from JNS Garbage and she will forward a contract to the clerk. A motion was made by Sotka to put the garbage contract out to bid for the November, 2023 Regular Board Meeting, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
Approve Generator Service Contract
A motion was made by Nelson, seconded by Burmek for $789 and carried.3-0-0
23. Set date for Town Board workshop for October
A motion to have a Board Workshop on Monday, October 16th, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. by Nelson, seconded by Burmek and carried. 3-0-0
24. Review placement of Public Comment on agenda
A motion was made by Sotka to move Public Comment to Item #7 every month, seconded by Nelson and carried. 3-0-0
25. Public Comment
Amanda Popp wanted to know when she will get paid for collecting the parking permit collections.
A request to have Aspen Lane be included in paving for the next budget year.
