5:00 P.M. Special Town Board Meeting Minutes

1. Call to order
Chairman Sotka called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Roll call

3. Approval of agenda
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Chairman Sotka. Carried 2-0
4. Award bids for road projects
    a. Project 1 Chipsealing various roads
Project includes single seal on Noquebay Rd 1.62mile x 20ft, single seal on Lakeview Rd 0.32mile x 20ft, single/double seal on Oake Ln 0.19mile x 18ft, single seal on Tipperary Ln 0.25mile x 16ft, single seal on Islandview Ln 0.40mile x 18ft, and double seal on Arrowhead Ln 0.24mile x 18ft. No other bids were received. Chairman Sotka made a motion to award Project 1 to Scott Construction, Inc for the total cost of $77,600.00. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 2-0
    b. Project 2 Cold mix wedging various roads
Project includes Ferndale Bridge, overlay on each side of bride 200ft x 22ft. East Right Of Way Rd. overlay one area 500ft x 20ft. Right of Way Rd. overlay two areas 160ft x 18ft and 300ft x 18ft. Willow Rd. overlay two areas 160ft x 18ft and 500ft x 18-20ft. No other bids were recived. Chairman Sotka made a motion to award Project 2 to Scott Construction, Inc for the total of $41,600.00
    c. Project 3 Pulverization of Maplecrest Rd. adding 1 ¼ limestone, and finish grading
Project includes staking to 26ft, remove sod from shoulders, pulverize, rough grade, and water. Add 3,800 ton of 1 ¼ limestone from a quarry approved by the Town of Lake. Finish grade material, compact, excavating, possible stump removal, and traffic control. Bids were read aloud. Banaszak Lawn and Dock placed a bid for $31,738.90. Peshtigo Asphalt placed a bid for $28,626.00, and Richlen Excavating placed a bid for $58,950.00. Public works employee, Jeremy Gross explained that Richlen Excavating included the price of the limestone from Dennis Taylor’s quarry off of Walters Rd, which was an unapproved quarry, while the other two contractors bid hauling from Northeast Asphalt quarry on County Rd G, which was approved by the Town of Lake Board. To give an equal comparison to the board, Gross used the price of the limestone from Dennis Taylor’s quarry, which brought the totals to: Banaszak Laws and Dock $60,238.90 and Peshtigo Asphalt’s total to $57,126.00. Supervisor Burmek made a motion to award Project 3 to Peshtigo Asphalt, Inc for the total of $28,626.00 plus the cost of gravel. Seconded by Chairman Sotka. Carried 2-0
    d. Project 4 Pulverization of Spur Ln. adding 1 ¼ limestone, and finish grading
Project includes 24ft stake out with sod removal, pulverization, widen to 24ft road base, rough grade and watered. 1,220 ton of 1 ¼ limestone hauled for base material paid for by the town. Bids were read aloud. Banaszak Lawn and Dock placed a bid for $14,381.00. Peshtigo Asphalt placed a bid for $15,825.00. Richlen Excavating placed a bid for $25,110.00. Public works employee, Jeremy Gross explained that Richlen Excavating included the price of the limestone from Dennis Taylor’s quarry off of Walters Rd, which was an unapproved quarry, while the other two contractors bid hauling from the Northeast Asphalt quarry on County Rd G, which was approved by the Town of Lake Board. To give an equal comparison to the board, Gross used the price of the limestone from Dennis Taylor’s quarry, which brought the totals to: Banaszak Lawna and Dock $23,531.00 and Peshtigo Asphalt $24,975.00. Supervisor Burmek made a motion to award Project 4 to Banaszak Lawn and Dock LLC (S&B Crushing and Materials) for the total of $14,381.00 plus the cost of gravel. Seconded by Chairman Sotka. Carried 2-0

Chairman Sotka made motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:14 p.m. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 2-0
