Special Town Board Meeting Minutes

1. Call to order by Chairman Sotka
Chairman Sotka called the meeting to order at 5:00pm


2. Roll Call
Sotka __p___ Burmek __p___ Hanson __p___ Wilson __p___


3. Approval of Agenda
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0


4. Liquor License for AB Northwoods LLC (Diamond Lake Campground)
Chairman Sotka made a motion to approve a Class B liquor license for AB Northwoods LLC (Diamond Lake Campground). Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0


5. 2026-2027 Propane Contract
Clerk Wilson obtained quotes for propane from Country Visions Cooperative and Lake’s Gas. Supervisor Hanson made a motion to approve the quote from Lake’s Gas for a 3-year locked in price of $1.629 per gallon. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 2-0-1 with Chairman Sotka abstaining


6. Website
Clerk Wilson expressed concerns of the difficulty in using the town’s website due to the outdated server and its inability to be updated. This also raises security concerns. She recommended it was time to have the website updated. Supervisor Hanson made a motion to have the town’s website updated by North Computer Service. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0


7. Employee Handbook
The board discussed changes to the employee handbook. Chairman Sotka laid the item on the table until the August 17, 2026 meeting.


8. Finance and Budget Update – Projects
The board reviewed the current financials of the town. Chairman Sotka made a motion start pursuing quotes for a new ordinance book. Seconded by Supervisor Burmek. Carried 3-0
The board would like the parking lot resurfacing put out for bid. The board would like to look into a more permanent solution for the municipal building’s water.


9. Adjournment
Supervisor Burmek made a motion to adjourn at 7:16 pm. Seconded by Supervisor Hanson. Carried 3-0
